weight loss

The weight loss battle is one that many have fought, and it often seems, only the lucky win. This isn’t entirely true. No matter what kind of fight, or journey, you’re facing, the key to finding and enjoying success is ensuring you have the right tools. For weight loss, those tools include:
- The right mind-set
- An interest in making important changes in your lifestyle
- A plan
- An appropriate diet program or aid that’s suitable to your needs

Which program or diet product is right for you? That’s a personal decision, and one you should likely discuss with your doctor. It needs to fit your health, goals and lifestyle. Not all products are created the same.

One popular approach for weight loss is the use of diet pills and/or supplements. They can be an ideal jumping-off point to help you get started, or, can help you navigate weight loss plateaus or finish off those last few pounds to meet your goal. They come in all shapes, sizes, ingredients lists, promises and guarantees and of course price.

Hydrox-Slim is one diet aid worth your consideration. It mirrors the national brand, but sells for a fraction of the cost. That’s money you can keep right in your pocket- and possibly pay for a gym membership, healthier food, or even new clothes when you reach your goal weight.

Hydrox-Slim is ephedrine-free, an herbal supplement that was commonly found in diet pills, but now banned by the FDA because of the health risks. And unlike a lot of its competitors, you’ll recognize almost all of the ingredients found in Hydrox-Slim. Vitamin B6, Guarana extract, white willow bark and green tea make up this effective diet pill formula. Taking Hydrox-Slim, it promises to:
- Increase your metabolism and burn body fat through thermogenesis
- Suppresses the appetite, leaving you feeling full and not giving in to cravings
- May help to reduce instances of high blood pressure
- Clinical support for its ability to regulate insulin
- Reduces your body’s retention of water

Best of all, these promises are similar to that of the national brand, and you’re not paying for the fancy name.

Some of the biggest take-aways are that Hydrox-Slim supports thermogenesis, reduction of water retention and regulating blood sugar, or insulin. Thermogenesis is the increase of your metabolism, your body generating more heat, and there by burning unhealthy fat. By reducing water retention, you won’t hold on to unnecessary water, and you won’t see a number on the scale skewed by water weight. One of the ingredients in Hydrox-Slim is called Gymnema Sylvestre, an herb from India, that has the nickname “sugar killer.” This herb naturally controls blood sugar by blocking the body’s absorption of sugar- helping you reduce cravings and lose unwanted weight.

It all comes down to your personal preference, choice and deciding which tools you want in your fight to lose weight. Hydrox-Slim is a diet pill that can aid your efforts with its natural abilities to burn fat, control blood sugar and reduce appetite.

Whoopi Goldberg began 2007 the way most of us start a new year- with a little extra weight that she wanted to get rid of. Whoopi reached out to L.A. Weight Loss, and as you’ve probably watched during the past ten months, she’s worked diligently to lose the weight. Whoopi set a goal to lose 40 pounds, and she accomplished it in 23 weeks. Six months of dedicated effort, she says that she’s more comfortable with her body now thanks to the weight loss. One of things she’s enjoyed about working with L.A. Weight Loss is that there weren’t a lot of sacrifices- she didn’t have to give up the foods she really enjoys.

L.A. isn’t a restrictive eating plan, it teaches you how to to eat, reach goals and maintain your new weight. This is all accomplished by working closely with a personal counselor at one of the more than 850 centers worldwide. You begin your L.A. Weight Loss journey by meeting with the counselor and letting them take a health assessment to determine needs, goals and how to tailor the program to best work for you. The program is safer when it’s not one-size-fits-all.
You then attend weekly meetings with your counselor, where they advise you on a healthy approach to weight loss that includes proper nutrition, controlling portions and planning meals. The meal plans are custom to each individual. The only thing worse than not being allowed to eat foods you enjoy is being forced to eat foods you do not like at all. So L.A. Weight Loss takes these matters into consideration when planning your meals.
L.A. Weight Loss proudly counts more than 2 millions success sories from around the world to its credit. They hang their hat on helping you lose the bulge without losing the lifestyle. Translation? Without too many limitations, you’ll learn how to make the life and foods that you love more healthy.
Just like Whoopi demonstrated- you’re not going to start today and lose the weight next week. L.A. Weight Loss encourages a healthy approach to weight loss. This means taking your time, and letting the pounds come off gradually.
It’s certainly not a fly-by-night fad diet. They’ve been coaching clients for more than 14 years and have their own brand of support, encouragement, nutrition and education are just what so many people, including Whoopi, need to finally find success.
There is recent concern that LA’s sister brand Pure Weight Loss is set to close its doors Jan. 4, 2008. Some years back LA sold off about half its locations to be run by franchisees and rebranded these 400 locations Pure Weight Loss. The plan has apparently failed. Questions remain unanswered as to what this may mean for LA Weight Loss. Its throngs of loyal customers are of course hoping for the best. As one of the fastest growing weight loss centers in the world, it would be a shame to see such a positive supportive program close its doors.

Weight loss programs with online interactions tend to have more appeal than those that do not. It allows people to bypass the weekly meetings and counselor appointments that were popular before the Internet became such a valuable resource. Places like Curves for Women have capitalized on this notion- becoming the biggest fitness franchise in the world with 10,000 intimate gyms located in dozens of countries. You probably know of a Curves location right in your neighborhood.

Curves understands the women who have grown to depend on their weight loss and healthy living approach, and that their lives are anything but boring. CurvesComplete.com recently launched, opening the Curves doors to women everywhere with this new interactive, fully supported Web extension.

Like many diet sites offering a Web function, Curves offers what have become standard and expected features- weight loss journals, customized meal plans, customized fitness plans, goal setting, message boards and member community and so much more. Unlike the brick-and-mortar Curves location in your neighborhood, you can access Curves Complete 24/7 and it’s not next door to that always tempting pizza shop.

A strong difference between CurvesComplete.com and its competitors- this site, information and weight loss plan come with the Curves brand of expertise. In its 25th year of service to helping women gain control of their weight and lives- Curves continues to raise the bar to support the physical and emotional needs of its female clientel.
All those excuses that have kept you out of Curves before, or any gym for that matter, no longer apply. You can log on to your personal CurvesComplete.com account from anywhere you have a computer with Internet. Curves Complete is open all day and all night- so no matter how bad the weather is, what time it is or where you happen to be traveling for work- Curves is open and ready for you.
The Curves Complete site has many honest testimonials from customers who fully used the program to their advantage and conquered their weight- and the emotional ties women tend to have to food. Some big-brand weight loss programs rely on the promotion by celebrities to spread the word about the success you can achieve. Curves simply rests on the word-of-mouth of its 4 million satisfied customers, and lets you see for yourself just how worthwhile the program is.

It takes just a few minutes to set up your Curves Complete account. Don’t become frustrated with the questions and input of some personal information like weight and health background. The more honest you are, the more finely tuned the program will be for your individual needs. This is one place lying about your weight isn’t going to grant you any favors.

Start the new year with a healthier, slimmer version of you. Subscriptions to Curves Complete start at just $5/week. Just think- giving up one trip a week to a fast food drive-thru will more than pay for your membership. With the click of your mouse, you’ll soon enter this new virtual gym where customized plans and support from other members is always ready for you.

Establishing itself amongst the good guys in weight loss, Weight Watchers has dedicated itself during the past forty years to helping women and men alike win the war on losing weight. An approach based on making positive changes that started in the founder’s living room with a few women, has grown into one of most recognized brands in dieting. This worldwide weight loss behemoth continues to grow in popularity as more and more success stories are added to its roster.

With an online community, branded foods in the grocery store, brick-and-mortar locations, branded recipes and a strong, loyal following, it seems Weight Watchers has done it all. The brand recently announced its plan to partner with the popular 7-Eleven convenience store chain to begin selling Weight Watchers branded snacks, a major step in its continued effort to grow its packaged foods line. Those watching their weight will find healthier options for snacking on the go with Weight Watchers’ muffins and snack cakes. Just in time for those new years resolutions, consumers will start finding these new snacks after the new year.

Should the new partnership with 7-Eleven, with 7,000 stores strong in the U.S., become a successful one, Weight Watchers plans to extend its packaged food offering in the convenience stores.

The company is of course planning for success, based on the popularity of its branded foods sold in grocery stores and the vast recognition of the brand related to weight loss as a whole. Grocery stores currently sell frozen meals, ice cream, candy and yogurt, and the company plans to add cheeses and cookies. These packaged foods from Weight Watchers are portion conscious and help customers enjoy the foods they love without going overboard.
Dieters often say that giving up their favorite foods or sacrificing delicious foods keep them from meeting their goals. Weight Watchers keeps this key insight in mind and has developed a positive reputation for providing its consumers with recipes and packaged foods that are full of flavor and satisfying. Giving into cravings is the downfall of so many diets- so dieters can rest easy knowing that these snacks are available, in just the right portion size, with all the flavor of their fatty competitors.

All of these foods and snacks are geared to help dieters learn how to properly serve portions and to help them choose foods that aren’t as laden in fat, calories and cholesterol. Weight Watchers teaches that no food is off limits. This no-restriction plan is flexible for dieters and keeps them from jumping off the wagon.
Everyone knows its those missed lunches, midday cravings and road trip pit stops that are so troublesome. When you reach the point of hunger pangs, you’ll eat whatever you can find. And unfortunately, that often means candy bars, potato chips and fast food. Finding Weight Watchers snacks at the local 7-Eleven and in the aisle of your favorite grocery store offers an opportunity for healthier choices and a greater chance at weight loss success.

For over four decades, Weight Watchers has been a driving force to give people the tools, encouragement and support they need to lose weight successfully. Unlike fad diets, Weight Watchers won’t help you ditch a few pounds this week and gain it back next. The program sets you up for success from day one- building a firm foundation based on healthy choices and increasing the amount of activity in your life.

Holding true to its roots, Weight Watchers members attend weekly meetings with small groups. These weight loss support groups encourage dieters to use this like-minded community for support, accountability and education.  The meeting leader drives the meetings, holds confidential weigh-ins and provides education about eating nutritiously and appropriate exercise.
Keeping up with the times, Weight Watchers has an interactive Web site where members can sign up and access an even larger base of members to communicate with. There is a wealth of tools and resources available at the site, including 1500 recipes, weight trackers, journals, Weight Watchers Points tracker, tips for eating out, fitness instruction with videos, motivating articles from nutrition and fitness experts and so much more.

Part of Weight Watchers effort to continue increasing the value of the program to its members and continue to be a progressive brand- Weight Watchers has partnered with Applebee’s to put healthy, Weight Watchers-approved menu items in the restaurant; and also recently launching Weight Watchers for Men.
While anyone is encouraged to join Weight Watchers, this new program is specifically developed to concentrate on the unique needs of men. Men are less likely to count calories and points and are more likely to stick to beers, pizza and burgers. They’re also less likely open up in a group meeting setting like women. Weight Watchers for Men still uses points, and weekly group meetings- but the meetings are only attended by men and the recipes and points seem far more applicable to a male diet. So they can still cookout on the grill- just with healthier options.

Most people are used to counting carbs, calories and fat while dieting- but Weight Watchers revolutionized this process with the its Point system. Each food on a list of 30,000 is given a point value. This makes it much easier to track what you’re eating- without all the other counting- and eat foods that you love.
Even if this simplified, and proven, method of counting doesn’t trip your trigger, the Weight Watchers Core Plan might be more appropriate for your lifestyle. Instead of counting points, you’ll manage what you eat in a balanced, wholesome diet. You’ll eat foods like fresh produce, fish, lean proteins, whole grains and low-fat dairy.

You probably think such an established, reputable weight loss program with all of these offerings is going to cost you an arm and a leg- but it won’t. Part of Weight Watchers appeal is the affordability. You can start the 3 month program with Weight Watchers for $5/week. For what you’d pay at the drive-thru for one lunch- you could be paying for a proven, effective weight loss program that will set you up for success today, tomorrow and for life.

A driving force in dieting, and one of the world’s most successful weight loss programs, Weight Watchers continues to not only stay true to its roots, but after 40 years stands out as an innovative program.

It’s no simple task to lose weight. Saying you’re going to start a diet, or eat healthier or get in shape is a far different thing than putting those plans in motion. Its takes an honest commitment and hard work on your part. For most of us with busy schedules, and usually living on a budget, it seems like a daunting task. But, if you’re ready to lose weight in a healthy manner and actually see positive results, then stick to these five really easy to follow tips.

1. Set realistic goals

You’re not going to lose 50 pounds this week, or the next. You can most certainly start losing the weight though. Being honest with yourself about what you want to accomplish and when that can actually be accomplished will help you avoid giving up. You can do this. Just be patient.

2. Choose your method

Have you tried restrictive diets in the past and wound up with more frustration than weight lost? Then don’t do get burned twice. That method isn’t the best for you. Let’s face it, there are as many ways to lose weight as there are cures for hiccups. Do your homework and visit with your doctor. Then decide on the plan that’s right for you.

3. Reward yourself

If you aced an exam or got promoted at work, you’d likely celebrate. So don’t forget to reward the milestones in your weight loss journey. Get a pedicure for that first 10 pounds. Buy a new outfit for that extra 20. Hit the 50 or 100 pound marks? Take a vacation you’ve always wanted. This will keep you from becoming discouraged and help you to keep looking forward.

4. Write it down

Journaling is not a new concept. People have been keeping diaries of their daily lives for hundreds of years. Journaling has also proven to be a great way to help people lose weight. Carry a small notebook with you and make note of everything you eat or drink. This will help you identify calorie counts, times of day, weaknesses and even what you’ve been doing right. You can also use your weight loss journal to outline goals (and rewards!), exercise an more.

5. Keep moving

Don’t believe the hype- you’re not going to lose weight unless you exercise. If you want to lose weight, it has to be a 50/50 partnership of diet and exercise. The E-word is not a popular one, but you’ll realize serious results if you do. It can be as expensive or cheap as you like and it can absolutely be on your terms. Spend 30 minutes a day, 3-5 times a week engaging in physical exercise. If you’re new to exercise, get your doctor’s OK first. Start out slow and don’t over exert yourself. If you hurt yourself, it’s not going to do you any favors. Find an exercise program that you enjoy. If running turns you off, but you love laps in the pool- then do the laps. You’re more likely to stick to it if you enjoy doing it.

Losing weight is a very common goal for most people, and it can also be one of the hardest goals to achieve. Whether you are just trying to tone up or you are trying to redesign your entire lifestyle, a lot of time and effort is required to effectively and permanently lose the weight. So many products on the market today claim to be the new ‘cure-all wonder pill,’ but most often than not it’s the simple things that can help you reach your goals.
BABY STEPS!

Weight loss is hard, and learning new routines is even harder. Most people who start a new diet or exercise regime believe that they will see drastic results in their first week. Then, when they don’t see the results they had hoped for they are disappointed and then quit. The most important thing to do when starting a new weight loss plan is to set small, reasonable goals. Don’t keep thinking about how many pounds you need to lose to be completely satisfied – instead, focus on losing 1 pound, 5 pounds, 10 pounds, et cetera. Start small and work from there. Also, if you don’t reach a goal do not be disgruntled that you didn’t lose x amount of weight. Instead, be proud that you lost the x pounds that you did lose! Improving your mindset and staying optimistic is one of the most key ingredients to a successful weight loss plan.

DIETING

Most people cringe at the word ‘diet,’ and with good reason. Popular culture teaches us to believe that dieting is painful and difficult when it really doesn’t have to be. Slowly integrating healthy choices in your diet is the best way to transition into a healthier lifestyle. Most people who drastically change their eating habits in one quick event usually aren’t able to stick with it.

Start by purchasing low fat products like ‘I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter’ instead of normal butter, or purchasing low fat salad dressings instead of regular. Some low fat products do take some time to get used to, but when you’re finally used to the flavor, it will all seem second nature to you. After that, integrate more fruits and vegetables into your diet. Also, substitution is a great way to cut unnecessary calories and fat. Using olive, grape seed, or flax oil instead of butter when you cook will greatly cut down on fats, and substituting whole grain breads and pastas for white breads and pastas will reduce the amount of processed ingredients you’re in-taking and increase the amount of fiber you get.
It is also very important to eat slowly. It takes your body 20 minutes from the time you eat until your stomach tells your brain that you’re full; and 20 minutes is certainly enough time to pack in that extra bit of food that you could easily spare. The basic equation for weight loss is this: to lose weight you must intake fewer calories than you’re burning each day. When you gain weight you are in-taking more calories than you burn each day. If you eat lean, nutritious meals routinely, you will find the pounds flying off easier than ever!

EXERCISE

You don’t need to hit the gym every day to be active and burn calories. Simple every day adjustments are often enough to give you that edge that you need. Walking an extra couple blocks each day or taking the stairs instead of the elevator can help you burn an extra few hundred calories!
